SUDAN

In October 2020, the government of Sudan introduced a new trade measure called the Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (ECTN). The ECTN is an electronic system that tracks the movement of cargo in and out of Sudan. The ECTN replaces the paper-based system that was previously in place. The ECTN is a requirement for all imported and exported goods and must be obtained prior to shipment.

The ECTN must be obtained from the designated Sudanese agency, which is the Sudanese Customs Authority. The ECTN system will help to streamline the movement of goods in and out of Sudan, and will provide Sudanese Customs with real-time information on the movement of cargo. The ECTN will also allow for the electronic tracking of payments made for goods imported into Sudan. The ECTN is a positive step forward for Sudan and will help to improve the efficiency of the country's trade.
