The ECTN is a document which is required for all shipments of cargo to Senegal. It is obtained from the shipping company and must be presented to Senegalese customs upon arrival of the shipment.

The ECTN is valid for one year and can be used for multiple shipments. It is important to note that the ECTN is not required for shipments of personal effects. If you are shipping cargo to Senegal, you will need to obtain an ECTN (E-Certificate of Territorial Coverage).

    • A letter from the company stating that the applicant is authorised to apply for an ECTN on behalf of the company
    • An invoice or contract for the export of the goods Once you have gathered all of the required documents, you can submit them to the Senegalese Chamber of Commerce along with the application fee. It can take up to 21 days to receive an ECTN from Senegal.
    How can I acquire an Ectn Senegal?
    Typically, your shipping business will handle securing an ECTN on your behalf. You can apply for an ECTN on the website of the Directorate-General for Taxation and Customs Union of the European Union if you are organising your own shipment.

    What details must I give in order to receive an Ectn Senegal?
    You must supply the following details in order to apply for an ECTN:
    • Your name and contact information
    • The shipper's name and contact details
    • The consignee's name and contact details
    • The ports for loading and unloading
    • The anticipated time of departure -The anticipated time of arrival -The kind of goods being sent
  • Bill of Lading.
  • Commercial Invoice.
  • Freight Invoice (required if the freight amount is not specified on commercial invoice).
