SENEGAL
The ECTN is a document which is required for all shipments of cargo to Senegal. It is obtained from the shipping company and must be presented to Senegalese customs upon arrival of the shipment.
Every shipment having Dakar as its final destination has to be protected by an ECTN or BESC. To prevent any difficulties or penalties when clearing the products at destination, shippers and forwarders are urged to adhere to the official authorities' prescribed method.
Important Information
- Effective March 1, 2019 the BSC for Senegal will be required prior to loading cargo onto the vessel.
- There is no regularization at destination port.
- It is recommended that the consignee add the BSC number to their ORBUS account.
